Rich Shordt serves as litigation counsel to construction industry and government contract clients. His practice is focused on construction law, commercial litigation and government contracts.
Prior to joining Groff Murphy, Mr. Shordt maintained a sophisticated civil and criminal practice focusing on government litigation and investigations. He provided assistance and support to clients in responding to criminal, civil and grand jury subpoenas; civil investigative demands and inquiries from federal regulators, including the OCC, GSA and various agency inspectors general. He handled False Claims Act investigations and litigation, as well as investigations into consumer fraud and money laundering.
Mr. Shordt has also maintained a strong pro bono work history, including work representing clients in cases involving complex issues of constitutional and federal law. He has handled actions brought under the Voting Rights Act as well as civil rights litigation and collateral proceedings in criminal matters involving habeas corpus.
